Today is Earth Day, and while sites around the web will be posting tips, and events that are taking place. If you have three minutes to spare, take three minutes to watch this short video narrated by one of my heroes.

Fail. Eating doesn't really fix anything. It just makes you feel better temporarily. Not that I got anything against eating. But then again hippies were never known for strong streams of logic.
But that's ok cause there's nothing that smoking a few doobies won't fix.

Is there a day called "Don't Treat Other Human Beings Like Shit Day"? cuz if there isn't there should be because I'm all for taking time to reflect on how we treat the environment but how we treat each other tends to get overlooked.

To a degree I agree but I think people also get caught up in a lot of silly things like consumerism and funky traditions. It can be a very depressing time. We need something independent of gifts and zombie births etc.

its funny, the holidays can be really depressing, but i haven't always seen buying things for my family and friends as "consumerism." the fact is, i would make something for them, but I can't really make anything, so it just seems pointless. its fun to find shit for the people that i care about and stoke them on it.

The Varietys of Science Experience is my favorite Sagan book so far. Even better than demon haunted world (although very good as well). I would suggest both to anybody.

i went to work today, i work at a chemical plant, and wondered if i was going to see the huge amount of chemical waste burning into the clouds. i was sadly disappointed, in fact the clouds seemed somewhat nastier than normal. it was like they kicked up a gear for Earth Day.
