El Bronx talk summer release, tour with Hold Steady this summer

Though dates have not been announced, Matt Caughthran of The Bronx and Mariachi alter ego El Bronx, told Phrequency that the latter band will be touring with The Hold Steady this summer. Matt also talks about a projected release for the El Bronx record:

The records been done for a while now, hopefully it's gonna come out in like early or mid summer. It's a really really important record; it's the best thing I've ever done. It's all original music, traditional mariachi stuff, and it's the punkest thing in the world for a band like The Bronx to put out a record like that. I think the first El Bronx tour when the record comes out is going to be El Bronx and the Hold Steady. It a whole different outlet – we can go tour with band The Bronx couldn't go on tour with.

I really hope they get added to the tour dates that the Hold Steady have already announced for this summer. I plan on seeing them in Cleveland on June 15th.

Tickets for the DC show of the Hold Steady tour sold out fast as shit, and people are selling them on craigslist for $50 each at the cheapest. Fucking assholes. I want to respond to one of the ads just so I can meet up with the person selling it for that much and shit on his face

loved ones toured with both. i can't think of anybody else though.

also -- i saw the hold steady with the bouncing souls and world inferno a few years back.

but i think that the kids who were really into the hold steady 4 or 5 years ago were probably more likely to give a band like th ebronx a chance -- i think their new crowd is more of a college/or yuppie crowd that might be terrified of the bronx.
