A Wilhelm Scream recording new EP, album, post b-side

A Wilhelm Scream are apparently working on both a new EP and a new album. According to a NME post, the band is working on new material for the follow up to 2007's acclaimed Career Suicide.

The site is also featuring a downloadable version of "Route 40 One Six," a rarity from the Japan-only version of Career Suicide. Grab the song and check out the update here.

The guitars sound like they want to be a metal band, the vocals sound like they are super processed. I don't know why they do that.

I like Wilhelm but I just can't really get that into them. This is after buying their last two cd's and seeing them live. They're a good band and they have some great songs, but I just don't ever feel like listening to them.

It's weird, Strung Out is probably my favorite band so all logic suggests I should love these guys.

I love this band because they have EVERYTHING, and they shred in every possible way.

some bands wail on guitar, but cant sing three part harmonies while doing so
some bands have amazing singers, but their music is 4 chords repeated over and over
some bands have great melodies, but their lyrics are shallow and cliche

Wilhelm pulls off everything while playing at speeds most musicians cant even think about

Rescue Me season 5 thoughts? Seasons 1 and 2 were amazing. 3 and 4 crap. 5 so far hasn't lived up too well, but I feel it's gotten better.

Michael J. Fox is the main thing that's keeping my interest in this show. It just hasn't gotten back to the brilliance of the first two seasons that got me hooked though.

Is that possible? I mean, I loved Catharsis For Dummies and September 10th and the rest of that album. And I enjoyed the even older stuff than that. But Wilhelm is just better in every single aspect of music.

Only people from New Bedford like Smackin' I. I'm from the next town over and hated that band. AWS is far and away a better band. Career Suicide is my least favorite of the three however.

So I went to the Heavy Metal Shop to pick up Career Suicide. They only had Ruiner so I bought it. Big mistake. With all the people on this site who have their tongues all over these guys' scrotums I thought they must be pretty good. The few songs I've heard off Career Suicide are pretty good, but Ruin sucks a fat one. Its just a bunch of whiny emo-ish songs about suicide. I was truly disappointed.

Needless to say I won't be buying Career Suicide or anything else these guys put out.

2. Emo has been skewed, what you are thinking of as emo sounds nothing like real emo.

3. A Wilhelm Scream doesn't sound at all emo (either meaning of the word) on any song besides maybe In Vino Veritas II.
