The Lawrence Arms plan show in October, other updates

The Lawrence Arms look to be celebrating their 10th anniversary this October with a show in Chicago at the Metro. To date, no other shows have been announced. Co-vocalist Brendan Kelly continues to blog extensively, Neil Hennessy is drumming for the Smoking Popes and Chris McCaughan has scheduled some solo shows as Sundowner. The dates are on his myspace page.

I felt the same about it as I do all Lifetime, which if you look at all their recorded output is pretty different. I think the vocals sounded kind of weird and the lyrics were way brighter but overall still good old Lifetime.

On Record Store Day in Chicago, Brendan said the EP would be sold exclusively at the 10th anniversary show...but he also continued to say that now that he said it, they'd actually have to do it. But yep, new EP!

Yeah I've never really bothered to investigate beyond the first LP/EP. Every time I see them they always play good songs I don't know but the vast majority of their set is made up of songs from those two.

new shook ones is REALLY fucking good, but come on man, best record in last 10 years? Nothing will ever top "The Greatest Story Ever Told" so no chance for any band to produce anything better. But, "birds on ice" is honestly one of the best melodic hardcore songs i have heard in a very long time.

At this show TLA will also put out their next release. An ep, I believe only available at the show. This according to BK at record store day. Pretty sweet

You are most likely correct. That said, I will be there and will have no intention of selling it. Plus, I'm pretty sure these will be new, unreleased songs, not covers. I'm excited as shit for even a couple new songs. Hopefully that also means new full length soon enough. It will be special in my heart no matter how many dollars it sells for on ebay. Finally, Lawrence Arms fanbase > Alkaline Trio fanbase (Quality not quantity, of course).

Oops, sorry. I just finished it last week. It's in barley breeding and genetics. Ahellofalotta work, so I'm glad it's done, now I can get back to consuming barley instead of breeding it!

the lawrences arms are great and i'm a fan but if they want to talk about making punk rock awsome and diy and rocking against the warped tour... then they should really go on a tour or something
