Suburban Legends demoing for next album

Suburban Legends have begun demoing for their next full length. The band has been posting frequent updates on their Twitter. The band released Let's Be Friends... and Slay the Dragon Together in 2008.

Also, it's not the return of Ska. This is the year of ska. Just a lot happening in Ska this year.

And I'm not stoked... I'm apprehensive. But they did promise this would be a full Ska album. Not just one or two songs.

I forget where I heard it, but someone once said "Ska is dead and Suburban Legends killed it." An overstatement maybe, but when you see them live and all their synchronized dancing glory, it makes you feel their is some truth to it.

Ska is dead. There isn't a good scene with new bands continously putting out stuff anymore. The only ska bands worth listening to who are active have been doing it forever and even their stuff isn't anywhere near as good as the older stuff they used to put out. Once this batch of bands stop, which probably won't be too long, it'll be a completely dead genre.

That's what they said about 80's hair metal, but ten years after Nirvana killed it, you still have a bunch of them in the world still. The only real dead music genre has to be disco.

Just because there are still hair metal bands making music similar to that of the 80's, it doesn't mean the scene is still "alive." I'm sure there are still people making disco music, but that shit is definately dead.

There is no way people are making new disco albums.. unless it was some sort of Kids Bop shit.

I think we need to make a clear definition of a scene that is "alive" and one that is "happening" with this subject. I say: alive means there is still music being made in the scene/genre whether or not it huge and/or big. Happening is when it's huge, popular, and thriving. Dead means there' jack shit going on. That's my perspective, right or wrong.

All this talk about synchronized dancing in that band is bringing back a lot of bad memories seeing them open a few years back with RBF/ Streetlight Manifesto/ Westbound Train. Their music is awful as well.

I saw this band open for Mad Caddies a while ago. They were so bad I cut my balls off with a meatcleaver after I checked out their myspace.
