Wolfmother, Brand New, Kaiser Chiefs, Beck confirmed for Guitar Hero 5

The first eight bands have already been confirmed for the inevitable Guitar Hero 5.

They are: Wolfmother, Rammstein, Beck, Garbage, Billy Squier, My Morning Jacket, Kaiser Chiefs and Brand New.

Probably because a new game costs $60 and they'd have to sell people 20-30 songs to make the same amount of money.

And a new game probably has more than 20-30 songs on it, plus all the time and expenses put into new packaging. I can't imagine that make many new advances at this point, so why pay for a new disc simply because it has different songs?

I can't think of a single game genre that got run into the ground as quickly as the guitar hero/rock band thing.

It's like those Tony Hawk skateboarding games. It started off with a fun concept, and one or two iterations later it hit its stride. Instead of taking the time to make significant improvements, the developers rushed as many half-assed titles as possible to the market with the hopes of cashing in on the trend, and everyone gets sick of it.
