Noodles talks next Offspring releases

Greg Beharrell of Canadian rock station X92.9recently spoke with The Offspring guitarist Noodles. In the interview, Noodles talks about why the band made Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace, as well as their experience working with producer Bob Rock and the songs off the record.

Asked if The Offspring were planning their next album, Noodles said that frontman Dexter Holland was in Hawaii working with Bob Rock (who also produced Rise and Fall) and looking back to the songs that didn't make it onto the last record before they could begin writing new material, although he didn't offer a timetable for the next record. He also discussed the possibility of releasing a b-sides and rarities compilation album.

I'd be surprised if they went back to Epitaph seeing as their albums are still selling decently well,unlike Anti-Flag, or Alkaline Trio, or whoever else has been dropped.

And if they were Nitro would seem to be a more logical move.

i dunno, if you took the best 5 or 6 tracks from "Rise and Fall..." the best 5 or 6 from splinter, and added that "can't repeat" song from the greatest hits, you'd have an album that rivals their best. they seem to be one of those bands who can write great songs, but all their filler stuff is TERRIBLE.

I don't think I could find 5 tracks from Rise and Fall that I actually liked. Maybe 2 or 3... Splinter was just as awful, same with Conspiracy. The 21st century really ruined a lot of great bands.

you heard "mission from god" and "D.U.I."? both are kickass, in fact the latter could be one of the offspring's best songs.

oh, and what's the best samiam album to get next? i've only got "you are freaking me out" and i fucking LOVE it.

My favorite is the first record, but it was the first one I hears. "The bridge" is one of my favorite songs
