The Ataris have posted the completed version of "All Souls Day" for streaming. The song was posted as a rough demo in April and will appear on their forthcoming, as-yet untitled album, as well as the new Warped Tour compilation on Side One Dummy Records.

Saw them a couple months ago without ever really listening to them when I was younger. They put on a really solid show and ended their set with about 5 Misfits covers. I'll probably check out the new album now.

it's taken this long for these guys to finally finish and master this track???? By the time they are done with the production and release of this record, who will care by then?

In other news, I submitted the following review a while ago, but I gotta guess it has not passed pn's strict quality control..

Argetti - Flags Of Karma

This kind of albums makes me happy. I'm really glad when I discover some new band doing the same old thing and doing it great. The same old thing is, in this case, emo punk rock, with catchy nice melodies and a raw but still powerful sound. At times really fast, with more than a hint of melodic hardcore in the way of Strike Anywhere perhaps, and with tons of classic singalong choruses, this record got me from the first listen. It is rather difficult, in a music where it seems nothing new could ever be said, to actually come out with something fresh and enjoyable, and therefore one cannot but be stoked from these rare discovers. The happier I am because the band comes from Italy - my country - where, sad but mostly true, these bands usually suck. A great part in making Flags Of Karma a good album, and way better than their previous effort In My Shoes, is the awesome, and as I said, powerful, production. The drums especially pound strong and compressed right in your ear, but bass and guitars too have just the right impact. And also, maybe the most noticeable improvement, the singer has gotten much better in these last years, and this surely helps in making the whole thing what it is: a nice, heartfelt, plain punk rock record. Well done.
