A stream has been launched for the 39-song tribute to Kid Dynamite. Some of the participating bands include Broadway Calls, Deny Everything, Fallen From The Sky, Hour of the Wolf, Latin for Truth, Lewd Acts, Make Do and Mend, No Harm Done, No Trigger, Smartbomb, Static Radio NJ, The Ergs!, This Is Hell and To the Lions.

As much a fan I am of most of Weasel's writings, he comes off kind of dumb in his new blog posts. He wonders where the little guys and the weird bands are going to record. Well, I wonder if he realizes it costs like $200 total to set up a permanent recording studio in your home. Sure, you won't get the latest in awesome quality, but I don't think MOST little guys or weird bands really care about whether it's perfect studio quality. That's what makes them the little guys and weird bands.

Agreed. Even if you wanted awesome quality, you can still do a whole lot with just a computer (who doesn't have one these days?) and a couple mics (which a band should already have if they're playing shows).

anybody remember when he went off on the proper punk outfits? something about gas station jackets weren't ok, but leather jackets were. and your chuck's had to be black, other colors weren't ok.

That was from his old MRR column... It was actually only white chucks that were acceptable. And never, ever should you be allowed to wear baggy shorts, wallet chains or baseball caps.

MRR was so awesome in the mid 90's... it was worth it just for Rev Norb, George Tabb and Weasel.

in hindsight a lot of that stuff got pretty rediculous. shorts you could camp in and that touched your shoes, wallet chains that were just as long. i don't quite get the thing about baseball caps, but overall bucket hats were a pretty bad idea in that whole mix of things. like everything else things like that are good in moderation.

and leather jackets will always be cool.

So my new roommate listens the really bad metal. Shit like Dope, Seether and fucking Rammstein. He's a really nice guy, but his musical taste is fucking killing me!
I mean he actually likes Disturbed!?? Who the fuck likes Disturbed??? He's also content playing Call Of Duty online for 6 hours straight. Uggh... I can handle that shit for about an hour and then I'm bored shitless.

Oh and to top it off the bathroom smells like a fucking Axe factory. Man, that shit smells gorss. Sigh... well as long as he pays the rent.

His favorite band is Lamb Of God... I wouldn't listen to them on purpose, but they're pretty tolerable.

Oh c'mon! That Axe shit is for tools who actually believe that women will rip their clothes off in an elevator when they smell it. At least have some class and get real cologne (and use it very conservativly, most chicks will tell you that they like a little cologne, but they don't wanna smell it unless they're close to you).

Also, if I'm gonna be in front of a TV for hours on end, I'd rather watch some good movies than run around in a video game and get cussed at by 13 year olds.

at least you don't live on mission hill and deal with the E line. that shit is brutal. i thank the jeebus i never had to live up there, but a lot of my friends have. one of my exes did, and she lived at the VERY TOP of mission hill. it sucked getting up there in the winter.

one of my buddies has house shows pretty much every weekend. it's rad to be in the know. even though i'm usually one of the oldest people there. :(

Listened to this record this morning. A lot of the bands did an awesome job - overall hit and miss, but mostly great versions of these songs from a lot of up and coming bands. It's awesome that basically every KD song was covered for the most part.

Fallen From The Sky, Broadway Calls, Ergs!, First To Leave are my favorites.

Broadway Calls do the best cover, Very fucking awesome.

Also, it's Zuko not Zuku.

And the ergs's cover is really disappointed; the solo sounds awkward and there are parts that our sung off key and it doesn't work.

there is like 2 moderate band for 39 songs, this is not that great.
