Thorp Records return with six new signings

Thorp Records has announced the signing of six new bands.

First, Philadelphia-based hardcore act My Turn To Win, Albany's Bulldog Courage, Portuguese melodic hardcore act Reaching Hand, Irish hardcore act 20 Bulls Each, Boston's Refuse Resist and New York City's Powerpoint.

Close! Our songs are more generally office-themed, but we do have some direct Powerpoint references in some of the lyrics. For instance, "Format->Font-Gill Sans Extra black" and "Bullets fly in from right" are in the song One Click Away.

Andy King must have gotten some other low level bank to loan him money because the guy was bankrupt a few years back. So much so he started a new label, went to a new distributor and got himself a nice advance to keep putting out the same band over and over again. I can't believe anyone would continue to fund this guy who seems delusional when it comes to what people will buy.

He started Sailors Grave while Thorp was still going. he did go to a different distributor but he was running them simultaneously, thorp being more "hardcore" and sgr being "punk."
The last part is totally right though. None of this shit is going to sell to anyone. Some of this is so fucking bad.

growing up in the Boston scene - its great to see a band like Refuse/Resist get some recognition. they are an amazing band with true spirit. And Bulldog Courage is incredible hard-ass HC band. big ups to Shane Courage and the boys. and do the rest of you really have nothing better to do than talk shit about dudes you do not know? you are in the wrong scene. go gossip about TMZ or some other useless crap. We do want you here. STFU

So, you created an account to come on here and talk shit to people talking shit? Don't know if you noticed, no one actually said anything negative about the bands here. Someone made a pun based on 1 bands name. That's it.
Hardcore punk has always had a large portion of talking shit, too, so don't get all high and mighty about "your scene." Refuse/Resist are terrible from what I heard on their myspace. If that's what the boston scene has going on, I think it's safe to assume that scene has run its course.
