Banner Pilot finish recording LP2

Banner Pilot has completed their sophomore LP. Bassist Nate Gangelhoff blogged:

We mastered it yesterday. Really excited for it to come out-- it's definitely the best thing we've done so far. I know every band always says that about their new record, even if their new record is a steaming pile of dog shit. I mean, do you ever hear a band say "Just finished the new record. It's not nearly as good as our old stuff. Kind of sucks, even. Catch us on tour"? Of course not. But this time, we're totally telling the truth.

The as-yet-untitled record is due out this fall and will be the band's first for Fat Wreck Chords, having released Resignation Day in 2008 via Go-Kart Records.

The last one had some epics on it, but then a lot of filler too, and judging from the new stuff that I've heard live, I think the new one will be better
I still think Eyedea's best release is "The Many Faces Of Oliver Heart", I think it's one of the best hip-hop albums of all time

Yeah I have, that CD has a lot of play on my itunes
But some of his older songs like "Step By Step" and "Bottle Dreams" are on a different level because of the deep storytelling in them

I already watched it. Also, I get more of the Beatles more than "All The Young Dudes" on "2 Guns" based solely on the beginning of the chorus for both songs.... "Here" and "One" and the way the melody progresses.

Haha did you catch the Full House theme melody for the solo?

Also, listen to "Here For You" by Ozzy Osbourne, and then listen to "Last Night On Earth" by Green Day, amazingly similar, piano intro, verses, chorus

That would be fucking sweet man. But before I could ask that of you and so that I don't waste your time, if you could maybe name just one solid ass release by one of the bands you're thinking of? I could download it, check it out, and see if I want more. Then I could get back to you. I'd be much appreciative. I’m about to check out the Doomtree s/t, if that counts then I should be good to go on sampling this stuff.

The Doomtree S/T album is a good place to start, also P.O.S.'s album "Audition", if you don't know about P.O.S., he has a lot of punk rock influence infused with his hip-hop style and a lot of non-hip-hop listeners really like his music
