Artist creates iconic artwork from Clash cassette

Georgia-based artist Erika Iris Simmons aka Iri5 has used an old London Calling cassette tape to re-create one of the most iconic images in modern music.

The previews and short alone were worth the extra price for the 3D showing. I also thought it was hilarious. I keep hearing people complaining that it got too serious or too sad, but I thought it made it a better overall movie. Best thing Pixar's done in years.

that's probably my favorite book (i'm not the literary type), but the idea of it as a film makes me nervous. it's intriguing, but i don't like when old things are made useless and modern. plus it isn't that long of a book, how long will the movie be?

The movie will be a lot longer than it would take any child to read the book. The previews made it look very promising, and the 3D factor definitely takes it up a notch.

I dig going to see movies based off books I've read. To see the differences or what creative liberties they took to make it into a film. Even when the movie turns out worse than the book, I usually enjoy both.

The only movies I've seen instead of reading the book is the Harry Potter series. I am not a fan at all of Rowling's writing style, but she has a good story behind it.

I heard that was really great. Although I'm still kind of a wreck after getting dumped last month... I dunno if I can look at a happy couple for two hours.

Breaking up with someone you live with is a major pain in the ass. You keep having to see each other while you get shit seperated and moved out. It feels like a divorce.

you do get to see lots fo fucked up shitty relationships in the process of things being good though, it displays a hopeful sentiment but only through examining how varied and flawed relationships can be.

It is always hard for me to watch pregnant movies so I had my own aversion to it.

I've been doing that a little bit... saw Screeching Weasel, The Aggrolites and Propagandhi in the last month. I'm still kinda new to Austin and the only friends I have I met through work and they don't really listen to punk, so I'm stuck going to shows alone. But it's a million times better than sitting at home being bored.

Liverpool sign Portsmouth defender Glen Johnson for $200K a week

June 23, 2009 Liverpool have snared Portsmouth and England defender Glen Johnson making the right-back one of the highest-paid defenders in the Barclays Premier League.

Johnson, 24, will earn a huge $200,000-a-week, after signing a deal worth $43 million over four years to move to Anfield.

The wage packet rocketed after Manchester City made a late dash to snatch the defender from under Liverpool's nose.

After Johnson had signalled he was happy to move to Merseyside last week, City boss Mark Hughes tried to hijack the deal which forced Rafael Benitez to significantly increase the personal terms.

it's also where it's not being about the first to think about it or do it, but the first to do it and actually think people might care (such as painting a 4x4 red square on a 6x8 canvas and it being in the national art gallery). often i don't know if modern art is a swindler's game, or full of people who find greatness in putting high value on mediocrity.
