King Khan and BBQ, Black Lips members form the Almighty Defenders

Members of Atlanta's the Black Lips and Montreal's The King Khan and BBQ Show (featuring Mark Sultan and Khan of King Khan and the Shrines) have formed a new act dubbed the Almighty Defenders. The six-member group will release their self-titled debut on September 22nd via Vice Records. They recently played their first two shows at NXNE in Toronto.

So I bought "600 Miles From..." by Hitechjet from iTunes and it's seriously one of the better albums I've ever heard. Absolutely essential for any fan of HWM, PBC, SBB or Leatherface... there's no excuses.

I say "I hate this band" more than "I love this band".

Maybe if you went and listened to the bands I recommend, you'd understand.

This week I've said Hitechjet and Dear and the Headlights are amazing, but just brought each up a few times. Oh and they ARE amazing. When you hear like 25 new bands a day that are somewhat relevant to your interests, chances are you find one worth getting excited about.

I know you're a joke account, but I'll still argue by saying your 'favourite bands' are all pretty terrible and typical "I just got into punk, yay!" bands. I mean I could understand not liking Hitechjet from the beginning of the one song on their myspace or that song altogether, but the rest of the album is gold. It's the closer so it's a bit slower.

Sure I'm younger than you, but I never listened to those bands. When I was 8 I heard NOFX from my older sister, then found Rancid and all the bands you have on your profile. By 9 or 10 I had moved on because I had outgrown them (see, you're the immature one here) and found better bands. If I can listen to what you like and say I have stuff that is better, I come out on top as opposed to you still listening to what I have already listened to and know all about. Unless I progressed into shittier music, but I don't see how that's possible.

Well it wasn't Black Flag or anything, it was NOFX, Rancid, Lagwagon, Pulley, Satanic Surfers and them. I moved onto Rise Against and other 'melodic hardcore/punk' stuff, then by 11 was into HWM and from there nothing much has changed as I still love HWM... just expanded into different subgenres that relate to HWM's sound through a few different bands or less. (ex: Defiance, Ohio is similar to Against Me!, who is from Gainesville like HWM... Defiance, Ohio and HWM sound nothing alike but... you get the point).
