Robbers tapped to support Brand New midwest / east coast dates

Long Island experimental/indie rock band Robbers have been tapped as the support act for the Midwest and east coast portion of Brand New's upcoming U.S. tour.

Robbers digitally released their half-hour-long EP, Flesh, earlier this year on Unicrons.

The only time I saw Brand New, I got there late and missed Manchester Orchestra. I was pissed. BN and Kevin Devine were both amazing though. I met Kevin after the show and he turned out to be an awesome dude. I really want to go to this.

They really aren't trying to be artsy or cutting edge with their new noise-y stuff, Jesse has stated repeatedly that he has a boner for old noise and shoegaze bands, and he's just ripping them off (albeit very tastefully).

Normally I agree with you closely on lots of music, but you are just plain wrong about this (and Small Brown Bike).

Hahaha, the small brown bike thing... they're emotionally superior to PBC, but instrumentally and song writing, PBC knocks them out of the water. It's only because small brown bike didn't mix as different genres (albeit sub genres) as pbc.

I don't think you've listened to The River Bed enough... it might be their most toned-down album, but the dynamics in every song are flawless, especially "The Outline of Your Hand Remains on My Hand". I agree that PBC is great at incorporating pop-punk and rock very very well, but they never grabbed me and pulled me in like SBB does.

HOWEVER, I am going to see them with the Swellers in a couple weeks, so maybe seeing them live will make me like them more.

PBC incorporates, hardcore, 90s mathy indie, pop punk, emo, etc. The riverbed rules, but it's still pretty SBB in the base. I love our own wars, but they play a lot of songs in the same key. SBB has some incredible time signature stuff that PBC totally rips.

See, I like the emocore and pop-punk that PBC blends so well, I just don't really hear the "mathy indie" that I want to hear so badly. Like I said, I'll try really hard to be into them by the time I see them live.

I didn't hate transformers. At any rate it was no worse than the first. And I was kindof in to it by the end. My biggest complaint is still that they make them all look like giant robot insects and they just gloss over the parts where they transform with closeups of individual "body" parts. And the times they do sortof show the whole thing it's just way more like morphing than transforming.

Reasons I do not (personally) like the transformers movie:
1. Humor: Too much humping, only one joke actually made me laugh, a robot literally shot out it's cock, too many testicle jokes.
2. Acting: Megan Fox.
3. Length: it was a 2:45 movie that would have easily been 2 hours long if they cut out al the slow motion shots of Megan Fox. It was too fucking long for a brainless action movie.
4. Racism: Ok, so ebonics speaking robots. Whatever. Wait, one has a gold tooth? what the fuck? and they're nigh-retarded? and they CAN"T READ? What. The. Fuck.

I remember back at Riot Fest all the mohawked kids there for the Casualties. Ugh.... all I ever recognized from them through the microphone half the time was "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNN!!!" and a slight "aaaaah!!" at the end of those statements. They're just stupidity in a punk package.

And that would make my day if you actually throw donuts at Stza. LOL

I was going to rock a blue and green stripped polo, with cargo shorts, some Nike running shoes, and a flat rimmed Cubs hat.
But I dont know, I decided against it, mainly because while my date would get the humor in it, I dont think I would get any points for doing that.

It's their only "great" song. I think it's due to World Inferno/Friendship Society helping out on that one. LC has some "good" songs, but not the biggest fan anymore.
