Yeah, I heard two of the new tracks from their myspace (they've been off for awhile now). I heard the same two songs lives too.

Both of them are easily my favorites of theirs, and I have high hopes for the rest.

I've heard it, and they did it more than right. solid straight through with some weird surprises along the way.

Awesome, stoked for that movie.

I love that show as much as anyone, but did it really need a documentary? It's probably going to just consist of:

1) favorite lines
2) complaints about the network
3) David Cross trying to be funny and just coming off like an ass
4) "America sucks for not getting it"

yeah and short. I like him though. it took about 6 months after he replaced kornheisersp? But I really like the non-sycophantic, bottom-line perspective. I like how he goes outside the box of sports. He can come off like a douche but he's also hit on a lot of true points in my experience. It's funny, he used to do our local show as a guest here during his first few years on espn and I was like "this can't be the same guy?" he sounded way more like a normal guy than a wise-guy used car huckster.

He is definitely a straight-shooter. My only beef with him is when he is constantly mentioning his wealth and celebrity when 9 out of 10 people could not pick him out of a lineup.

When Blake Griffin was on the other day, Cowherd told him "when you get out to LA, I will stop by and we can hit up Malibu Beach, cruise for some girls, and get some cocktails." Why the fuck would a newly minted millionaire want to hang out with a 45 year old blowhard?

And yeah, it seems the larger the audience for talk radio, the more required it is to adhere to the usage of the fake car salesman voice, ala Glen Beck. Damn, that dude gives me the creeps.

I always felt the same, and pretty much still do, but for a while here the only choice was mike trico or his show from 1 to 2, and mike trico just bores me to tears, so I would listen to rome just for the absurdness of it all and I kindof came around. It's kindof like if eazy had his own show. It's preposterous but you can't help but be entertained.

I gave Drag the River - You Can't Live this way a 5 star review, but punknews published it as a 4 1/2.... kinda confused, but whatever. I remember reading Smoke Or Fire's last album review and it got what.. 3 1/2? I remember reading it and it was really a 4 star review. My beef is that what's written half of the time should get the proper rating that it sounds like in the review. Does that make sense?

The thing is people act like a 3 star record isn't good. You really have to take lots of things into account. A 3-3.5 is a good listen, a fun listen, etc. The only thing i'd ever give more than a 4 that hasn't proved itself with longevity is Sometimes things just disappear and castevet's summer fences.

I suppose instead of using the concept of good, most people use the word average when it comes to 3 - 3 1/2 stars. Except for a few records, albums that come out right away really shouldn't get 5 right away. That's why I gave Ben Nichols - Last Pale Light... 4 instead of 5. It needs more time to grow before it's classic. I still remember people going through the roof when C I V I L W A R didn't get 5

About Screeching Weasel-related: the Leftovers. Stop Drop Rock N Roll was incredible. Then Ben Weasel got involved with the band and now every fucking is syrupy pop. Its ridiculous, they're still good but I anticipated alot more.

I think Ben is even on record as saying Stop Drop.. is their worst material. Whaaaaaaa..?
