Yahoo! Music has published an article ranking the 25 greatest punk rock band logos. The list is topped by the Black Flag 'bars' logo, and other iconic logos such as the The Misfits skull and the Minor Threat black sheep make the list.

I'm really surprised by the lack of Crass on there. Also who the hell are Adhesive? I fucking love Swedish punk (hell I'm wearing a Regulations t-shirt right now) but I've never heard of them. I'd take off that, Offspring, Dead Milkmen and Saccharine Trust and a couple others that are on the fence. Replace them with the aforementioned Crass, Husker Du,Tragedy, Naked Raygun and some others that I can't think of. Overall not as offensive a list as it could have been so that's cool. 5+ Replies

This list really needs the Dwarves logo. Gee, I wonder why Yahoo didn't include that one? Also, the Offspring??? Really? Oh and Sex Pistols is not a logo. That'd be like putting NOFX on the list. 2+ Replies

"I don't really consider the Offspring a real punk band..." but I put them on the list anyway because I'm a big idiot.

So two nights ago after I came out to my parents that I was trans and having to sit through them telling me how I was trying to defile my body, that I was demonic etc. all the while I think they get it and THEN I use the word queer. My mother then goes "wait a minute you are queer?" When I respond with a yes she then proceeds to tell me that I am going to get aids, and suspects that I'm on hard drugs and am either stripping or somehow selling my body for cash. 12+ Replies

Regardless of what band you jerk off that didn't make the list, Historicaly speaking, I feel the misfits skull and the blackflag bars will be he most famous and recognizable.

I don't really like Strike Anywhere but that should be up there. The amout of "hardcore" orgmen sporting it suggests so anyway.

wow really suprised that the strike anywhere logo didnt make that, that is an incredibly common tattoo

Seems like he just picked the first 25 punk logos he came across on google or something. I never even knew Offspring had a logo. The Germs, while recognizable, is not a great logo. Black Flag, Misfits, Social D, Ramones, DRI; those are great logos.

Kinda loses steam after number 5.

Crass and Descendents were the first two I thought would be on there. Crass definitely has the best one to fit their ideology. hands down. Bad Religion second.

Crass missing from this list is a god damned travesty. Screeching Weasel or Op Ivy anyone? How about Sick of it All? As for newer bands I would put Hot Water Music or Alkaline Trio on there over that stupid offspring skull. | Features
