Four Year Strong have posted their cover of Third Eye Blind's 90s hit, "Semi-Charmed Life." The song is one of the 90s covers on their upcoming album, Explains It All, due out July 21, 2009.

honestly, "semi-charmed life" is my least favorite out of that first album. some of the lyrics in "losing a whole year" have aged horribly too.

Really? I always felt that "Losing a Whole Year" has held up fairly well, but I never read it to be like the best song ever. I honestly can still listen to the S/T front to back, it just sounds good to me.

I felt that was a pretty cool line. Seems to focus on those kids who are so "different" and exist only in the internet domain. Actually, it seems like there are more of them now than when the album first came out.

'93, '94, '95, '96 were great years for music. Unfortunately, third eye blind was not good.

yeah i don't understand everyone's love for third eye blind. it was lame then and is lame now. out of curiousity though what was so great in 93-96?

Those were that years that I discovered Rancid, Bad Religion, Nofx, Offspring, etc. Some pretty solid and influential releases too (at least for me) - Smash, Let's Go, ..And Out Come The Wolves, Stranger Than Fiction, ...umm...shit, LTJ's Losing Streak. Those are the first one's I can think of. And because of these bands/albums at this time, I then discovered all the misfits, social d, germs, etc.

Really, really really awful. Seriously, I can't imagine how anyone who likes Third Eye Blind would think this is a good idea. I'm honestly amazed anyone likes a band who would produce this.

Third Eye Blind's s/t album is one of the first cds I ever bought with my own money. I still enjoy listening to it. Pretty much just the first half of it.

wasn't aware these guys joined Decaydance, good fit I guess. super annoying. I'll admit the original is fun and reminds me of my youth though, the lyrics are actually pretty genius pop songcraft.
