I thought the same thing when I read that.

Actually now that I think about it, no, I don't agree with this. Because I liked YFW when I was 12 or 13. I also listened to NFG, Rufio, Saves The Day and other such bands at the time. Nothing but cheesy, whiny, pop punk. If I were to have heard YFW today, I'm not too sure how much I'd like it.

And I just straight up didn't like where their music went after YFW. It's not me being punx(my second fav band is Thrice), I just didn't like it.

I agree in that I don't like where they went after it. It was too drastic of a change for me, and I even saw them two years ago and they bored the shit out of me. It's one thing to play slower music but interact with the crowd or even acknowledge them, but they gave off such a pretentious ora I left and didn't talk to my (then) girlfriend the whole drive back. They sucked.

Would I like the album if it came out now? I'm not sure. But I would like it a whole lot better than the past two albums.

am!!! by far is the most overrated band. pbc is great and gaslights first record, sink or swim, is so much better than the 59 sound. the 59 sound is only half good, AM! never grew on me. i think brand new has grew past the days of your favorite weapon, and i like the way they're going.

The first song I ever heard was Hollow Place and I loved it. Then I got the EP and it was easily the best EP I had ever listened to in mah life. May be an overstatement, but it's definitely up there. 3 of the songs on the EP are in my top 5 favorite songs by them.

The "I don't get PBC" comments are so much overdone than mikexdude's "I love PBC" comments. Right now, PBC are hated on far more than they're not, which means they're not at all overhyped, they're underhyped. And if what seems like 80% of the commenters here actively express their dislike of them, then you're not 'weird' for not liking them, you'd be 'weird' for liking them. The same thing happened with Gaslight; they were being loved by everyone, so the 'cool, unique and original' thing to do was comment saying "I don't get the Gaslight love". A couple months later, everyone was saying "I don't get the Gaslight love", so the 'cool, unique and original' thing to do was to say you still like them.

Although i do love illusion of safety, vheissu is a great night album.
Listening to it during a snowy night seriously made me cry. It was so beautiful.

When has it ever with Thrice? Never have they repeated an album. I loved Alchemy. I thought it had some of the greatest moments of all their music. Digging My Own Grave, Silver Wings, Open Water, Lost Continent, Messenger, Broken Lungs, Child Of Dust. I did think there were some bad moments though like The Arsonist, Kings Upon The Main, Back Draft, Sky Is Falling. Fucking Digital Sea is amazing live. Ok im done.

The only albums I ever choked up for were Bad Astronaut's Twelve Small Steps... and Lagwagon's Resolve. For obvious reasons. I remember getting that giddy feeling when hearing Red Sky though. Especially with the harmonies.

But I TOTALLY disagree with that one statement. Like Moths To Flame and Hold Fast Hope are the only songs I can maybe skip. Every other track could arguably be someone's favorite.
