Brand New, Glassjaw to perform together in November

Brand New and Glassjaw will perform, alongside "special guests," Nov. 27, 2009 at Nassau Coliseum. The announcement came via a flyer on Brand New's merch table at the Brooklyn stop of their current tour.

Brand New will be playing in support of their Sept. 22, 2009 release Daisy.

While I respect the fact that you may hold a different an opinion than myself, I'm still going to go out on a limb and call you a fucking moron. Mainly, there are far worse bands out there to be making such brash statements about. When groups like Five Finger Death Punch, Hinder and Simple Plan exist why would you hold such hatred against bands like Brand New and Glassjaw? Both innovative and intelligent bands who continue to go agaisnt the grain and do things the way they want which is the essence of punk rock. yeah he said this ones off our new album which is untitled and someone yelled daisy he just laughed and said something along the lines of i dont know what your talkin about -- the cover was pretty spur of the moment too they kept playing like 30 seconds of 90's songs like third eye blind and shit and someone yelled el scorcho and jesse was like ok since ya dared us and just broke it down

Granted, I think this is mostly a function of my friends who live there, who have no interest in actually going out and interacting with humans they don't know.

But the memory of walking from the parking garage to the venue that RFTC was playing at on Halloween dressed in full drag was absolutely frightening. San Diego still bears the legacy of being a completely conservative military town.

Listening to "I Don't Wanna Grow Up." The album is pretty solid so far.

I have yet to understand the lyrical genius of the band. But to each their own. I mean some songs make me laugh, but so do The Johnstones and I don't consider them lyrical geniuses.

Actually, Can't Go Back is pretty strong lyrically. Sorry, steam of concious typing, it just popped up.

Anywho, the point of this was not only do Milo and Dan Pothast look alike, but "Pervert" and "Stuff" are lyrically the same song.

As anyone ever seen the two of them together? No. Therefore, following the logic Ace Ventura: Pet Detective taught me... Milo is Pothast. Pothast is Milo.

I know. It's get way to sensitive anytime I compliment any band he likes. Unless I'm like, "I would slit my wrists and denounce my god just to hear the last 10 seconds off any Descendents record" he isn't satisfied.

And of course I've heard it. It's widely considered to be one of the best ska albums of all time. Even though it's not my favorite Reel Big Fish album. (LOLOLOLOL)

Like most good art, Descendents need to be put into context. They were a band from the suburbs growing up in the violent hardcore scene who didn't want to write songs about Reagan and hating the cops. This doesn't sound strange now, but in 1984, you either wrote about politics or you were a sellout. I'm simplifying obviously.

I love the Descendents because they completely embody all the teenage nerd agnst I felt in high school. Being in love with the girl you're friends with who likes some jackass... that's what its about. This was eons before Blink 182. Their lyrics are straight forward and honest. If they aren't brilliant, at least they are the fucking truth. They embody the joy and pain of adolescence--the rush of fast food and caffeine and the downs of not being able to talk to the girl you love. Its like 50's rock n' roll updated and actually written by teenage

A lot of girls once I've shown them Ska have really loved it. I think this is because, generally, girls like to dance.

And there are a lot of cute girls at ska shows. But they are either a) Below the legal age or B) Not single.

I just got into Teenage Bottlerocket, and they fucking rock.
Plus Ive listened to the Dead Milkmen since I was in like eighth grade, and I would be very disapointed in myself if I did not get so see them live once.

The other show is good, dont get me wrong. But Ive seen OWTH. Shot Baker plays a show every other day over here. NOFX is meh. Street Dogs are just kind of there. And I have no interest in the remaining bands at all.
