Members of hardcore bands play tribute to classic hardcore in Bringin' It Back

A number of hardcore musicians have teamed up for Bringin' It Back. The show is set for August 16th at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim and will have these musicians covering hardcore classics from the 80s and 90s including songs by Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand. Earth Crisis and Snapcase.

The backing band will include Scott Sprigg (Buried Alive, Stand and Fight, Force of Change), Vadim Taver (This Day Forward, A Life Once Lost) Matt Horwitz - (Adamantium, Mean Season, Monument to Thieves) and Greg Bacon - (Carry On, Betrayed, The First Step, Internal Affairs)

Vocalists will feature Keith Barney (Throwdown, Eighteen Visions, Adamantium, Monument to Thieves), Javier Van Huss (Eighteen Visions, The Mistake), Ray Harkins (Taken, Mikoto), David Richardson (As Hope Dies, Force of Change, Monument to Thieves), Mike Shaw (This Day Forward) and Bo Thompson (Donnybrook, Snake Eyes, Lone Wolf).

Of the vocalists mentioned that I know, none of them would do any justice to the classic hardcore bands mentioned earlier.

i disagree. i'll be made spectacle of for my feelings, i'm sure, but i don't care.

old eighteen visions fucking rips. and old throwdown (which keith barney used to front) as well.

you can fight me about it, but i'm not gonna bite. i like keith barney (aside from his ill-fated attempt at a shitty marilyn manson rip-off band NEV3R 3NOUGH, which was just a bad idea).

I mean I like Snapcase a lot but I wouldn't even consider them "classic hardcore". But I would consider them good, which is more than I'd say of Earth Crisis.

me too man, I got my drivers license in 1991. It's hard to think kids born then are just getting into this shit. And oh man does Earth Crisis stink.

I like Snapcase a lot too, and no I don't consider them classic. Gorilla Biscuits is 'classic'.

I kinda like that one too.

Firestorm is just incredible, even though its lyrics are so deadly militant they verge on Good Clean Fun territory.

I've never really checked out their older stuff on account of my distaste for the newer stuff I've heard. Though I'm always a little skeptical about bands that are told to be "good if you can get past (some part of their music)".

I'm getting an MRI today at 6pm. They give you these huge headphones and you get to choose an FM station to listen to... I can't stand NPR and I hate most radio music. So I have no idea what to choose.
I'll probably pick the alterna-rock station and get my yearly dosage of Shinedown and Godsmack. What the fuck is up with people and their shitty mainstream music taste?

Also, this MRI will cost over $2,500 (thankfully I've hit my deductable and it's paid for). Gee, I wonder why our health care system is fucked and insurance cost a fucking fortune.

That was my other option. Only problem is then I'll have to hear Areosmith. I hate that band.

Problem is that I never listen to the radio, so I don't even know what channel the good stuff like Oldies is on.

Wow. Mentioning Earth Crisis in the same sentence as Minor Threat should fetch you the death sentence, but I wouldn't expect much more from modern Revelation Records.

90's HC trend needs to end. Those bands blow. It's just death metal for people who don't know about real death metal.

Wow...a bunch of NON-hardcore vocalists covering hardcore songs...that's just what I want to listen to- some screamo/metalcore/whatever you want to call it suck fest bitch whining my favorite Minor Threat songs.

i just want to know how any of those bands are related to hardcore at all...
it seems more like metal bands who can play complicated riffs.

i mean i'd like to see The Unseen, Paint It Black, hell even NOFX on this, cuz at least they actually know something about the bands they're coverings
