JEFF The Brotherhood (ex Be Your Own Pet) plan tour, LP

JEFF The Brotherhood, the "kraut punk" / "psychedelic grunge" project of early Be Your Own Pet guitarist and drummer Jake and Jamin Orrall, are headed out on tour soon. The band will be supporting their upcoming full length with shows alongside Ted Leo, Ty Segall and Shonen Knife.

The Nashville based duo will release their debut LP Heavy Days on Infinity Cat Recordings on October 13th. The song "Bone Jam" is available for download now and a video can be found below.

that 3-song block of "they rode in" -> "wild stallions" -> "words written" is awesome.

i think the only songs i didn't really dig on that album were the one acoustic yowly song where he sings about being an asshole to some girl, and the election day song which just seemed really contrived.

alright good that's what I wanted to hear. The problem is my friends are girls, so they are always all about getting presents for everybody, so then I feel like a douche if I don't get them something, but if I were a normal guy who had guy friends I don't think it would be much of an issue if I did or not so I think I should get some kind of leeway.

Every now and again, someone will actually buy me something for my birthday and its always weird. Alcohol is the best gift!

They should be called "pre-Be Your Own Pet", not "ex-Be Your Own Pet", because JEFF already had an album out when they started BYOP as a side project. Jake quit and went to Iceland, Jamin carried on until the second album and then bailed to devote all his time to JEFF The Brotherhood and record for an indie as opposed to Universal,
I've been following them since album one and this is gonna be album 5. I've heard almost all of it live and it's just plain great.

if you like Black Keys and Lightning Bolt, you gotta go see these guys live. I saw them with Black Pus and they totally held their own. check out their house show clips on youtube, there's a ton of them.
