BYO unveils "Let Them Know" covers by Pennywise, 7 Seconds, Youth Brigade

BYO Records has begun teasing the band combinations on their upcoming Let Them Know boxed set via an e-card. This week they revealed Pennywise covering 7 Seconds' "We're Gonna Fight," Youth Brigade covering SNFU's "Misfortune," Nothington covering One Man Army's "All The Way," Wednesday Night Heroes covering Stretch Marks' "Foreign Policy" and 7 Seconds returning the favour to Youth Brigade by playing "Sink With California." The songs appear on the LP that accompanies the set.

Let Them Know: The Story Of Youth Brigade and BYO Records features a DVD release of the full-length documentary Let Them Know, directed by Jeff Alulis (Do You Remember? 15 Years of the Bouncing Souls, NOFX's Backstage Passport). The aforementioned double LP, is a 31 track audio compilation of bands covering songs from the BYO catalogue. The LP and DVDs will come packaged with a full-color, hardcover coffee table book further celebrating the label's history.

Dead End Stories was really good. Came out at a time when there was very little to get excited about and sounded really fresh. Last Word Spoked was kinda boring and a bit of a let down for me. Don't think I've ever heard their last album.

well since everyone else seems to have picked other albums where they shined, i think rumors and headlines is their finest. it's catchy as hell and has a bunch of great singalong stuff. yeah a lot of it sounds the same, but it's still good.

In the grand scheme of the world Pennywise is way bigger than Nothington. Also you know, the whole fact that this is their last recording with their longtime singer.

It'd be more blatant editorializing if Nothington were in the headline.

Not sure of that. National Lampoon had a booth at Warped Tour selling the soundtrack of their latest movie "Endless Bummer", and it has Pennywise covering Iggy Pop's "Bang Bang" w/ Jim on vocals. I guess it depends which was recorded last.

The soundtrack is actually somewhat decent even though it's almost all covers. It's got Fear, Aggrolites, Dollyrots, circle Jerks, Briggs, & Joan Jett.
