Social Distortion to head into studio January 2010

In a new interview, Mike Ness confirmed that Social Distortion will be hitting the studio in January. Ness also confessed that he can't write while on tour, but that the music comes when he's out "living life. " He explained:

The main thing is to just keep going. We have such a momentum going right now, that's what keeps it fresh and exciting. Our level of success has been a very gradual thing. To be more popular now than you were 10 years ago, but still to have 30 years behind your belt is kind of a weird phenomenon

Although there some legitimate obstacles in the way, it took him like 4 years to complete and release Sex Love and Rock n Roll as far as I know.

Just because it took 8 years for Sex Love and Rock 'n' Roll to arrive doesn't mean the next album should repeat that gap.

Sure, but I like to keep my expectations low sometimes, especially when it comes to the release date of a new D album. I actually wouldn't care if it came out in 2012 - I don't need a new D album, so I would much rather wait for a good one then some potentially rushed piece of shit which could end up being the band's last album.

On a slight digression, I think SL&RnR was there best since Mommy's Little Monster. Sure all the other albums had some better and more classic songs, but as a full album its more solid.

No shit really? I am an asshole so what??? The band sucks now period! The problem is with you johnny come lately's chimming in who never seen them like I did 20 odd years ago! It's time to move on kid lot's more bands out in the world who need support I think Mike Ness has enough money! The band is past the sale by date!

You don't somehow "own" a band just because you managed to be born a few years before someone else. Their last studio album was better than any of their early records, by far.

Also, it is possible to support more than one band.

That was a little un-called for, but funny at the same time... They are old, but definately still viable. I have yet to see them live, but this is the first bad thing i've heard about their live performance.

I can either see strike anywhere, crime in stereo, polar bear club, and ruiner on the 16th or social d on the 18th due to my work schedule. I'm thinking social d is the better choice just because of the lack of opportunities, but with the other show there are multiple good bands plus it is way cheaper. what do you think?
