Members of Screeching Weasel, Rise Against and Common Rider have joined up with vocalist
Jorge Orillac - the nephew of the President of Panama - to release a record as Torture the Artist. The album wasproduced by Mass Giorgini (Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag) and promises "minor key melodic punk rock anthems in the spirit of Alkaline Trio, to psychobilly-tinged rockers a la Living End, to straight-up pop-punk sing-alongs reminiscent of Green Day."
Their self-titled debut was released on Go Kart Records. Check out some music on their MySpace page. Go Kart Records (59 comments)

Caught my attention until you mentioned Greenday. Its not 1992 or 1994 even, cant you just say " we are trying something new that sounds like nothing you've heard before." If you cant say that then why should we listen.
ExtraCheesePizza (October 6, 2009)
Definitely checking this out when I get home. Which members of those bands are in this though?
Dante3000 (rich) (October 6, 2009)
It says they're record came out in June. Not sure why this is news in October.
brangelina (Chris Farren of Fake Problems) (October 6, 2009)
Huh? Why? Is this like rich kid punk karaoke? "Bring me one member from each of these bands!"
Mickierat (October 6, 2009)
These guys are WAY too apologetic about their band name. It's just a name, guys, we're not going to automatically assume that you condone torture.
samheaton85 (October 6, 2009)
3 of the great 90īs bands hoping to sound like 3 bands that are worse than them. haha
mrbenja (October 6, 2009)
in interpunk it says "ex-members", not "members".
ilikeilike (October 6, 2009)
This is hilarious. I love it when some hired guns try to use their past bands to make it seem like their new band is something special. No emotion, just the normal polished crap. Oh well, at least some people will get a laugh out of it. And it's on Kid Tested, not Go Kart. It's a sub label. |
