Green Day have re-posted their video for "21st Century Breakdown" after removing it from YouTube and several other sites last week. It comes from their album of the same name.

Besides money (which they have quite a bit of at this point) what the fuck is the point of making something this shitty? 6+ Replies

I got my reissue of "Nimrod" a few weeks ago, and looking at the artwork reminded me of how fucking cool I used to think Billie Joe was. When that record came out I was 15 and I thought it was awesome that he didn't look or dress like every bullshit rockstar jackass out there. Those were the days.

Quality of the song aside, it's a pretty good video; I haven't said that about a video from these guys in a long time.

You know, if you just look at them as an alternative rock band then they are pretty good. If you still look at them as a punk band then go back to 1996. They look like total clowns, this is true, but their new stuff isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. They've evolved and gotten older which most bands do and only few do well. I'd say Green Day has done an okay job at maturing their sound without totally fucking it up. I mean, you cant sing about masturbation and stews made of brains your whole life. Plus, Peacemaker is a pretty badass song. That said, I don't LOVE the new Green Day but I also think they could be a lot worse. 5+ Replies

Guy liner is a circular narrative in many ways where it kind of sums up pushing 40 and wearing make up in a time capsule. 4+ Replies

Granted, a six minute song is a good five minutes longer than the average attention span, but I think "21st Century Breakdown" is way better with "Song of the Century" as a lead-in, not to mention the piano-driven build-up that they lopped off for the video.
