Break-ups: Anchor Down (2007-2009)

Though they've offered little in the way of details or explanation, it looks like Portland and Seattle-based Anchor Down have called it quits. The band posted just a sentence-long update on their MySpace indicating as much: "(2007-2009) We had a good run..."

They most recently released Steel to Dust in 2009.

I was looking forward to their EP for quite a while before it came out. Then I got it, listened to it a few times, and forgot about it... it was too overproduced or something; the songs just came out weird sounding. They were well written and had potential, but something just went wrong along the way. I'm sure the members will go on to new projects that will probably be better than this one.

ha weird. I met one dude at this band at the Tampa airport after fest. He had a guitar and was 'fest-y' lookin so we talked. Nice dude. I also think I might have played with them but was too drunk too remember. Maybe I just met them at that show.
