They almost never talk about their sexuality. There's lots of people I know who didn't know that they were lesbian. As for the haircuts, I guess people aren't allowed to have their own personal style anymore? They've had them for a long time before they were "known". Even I know this and I'm not a fan of their music.

Stop hating a band because of your imagined idea of their fans. I don't know anyone who likes this band to be ironic. They like them because they like their style of music; from punks to just normal kids. It's simple pop music. Get over yourself.

I think I'm the only one who agrees with you. The rest of these guys are way too hung up on defending "lifestyle choices" especially Mike and Christine. Its this nutty yuppie phenomenon where all opinions have to be afforded equal consideration and given equal respect. Thats complete bullshit and even they don't really abide by this rule in practice.

Otherwise, the Teabaggers would be equally entitled to their "opinions", right? See, just because you can cast everything as "opinions" doesn't make it so. Liking Tegan and Sara is a matter of taste. Acknowledging the context that their music is popular in -- primarily indie hipster assholes who are obsessed with their vacuous "lifestyle" choices -- thats not any kind of opinion. This assumption that we only like a band because of their sexuality is ridiculous. I didn't know anything about them as people (let alone their orientation) until well after I got into them. I know this is hard for an image conscious punk to understand, but sometimes people like music for music's sake.

The most confusing part about these lists is seeing Brand New on so many of them. I love Brand New and their first 3 albums, but Jesus was Daisy bad. Its really on the border of just unlistenable.

The difference to me is that the slow parts of Daisy really build up into something awesome. Now I love Daisy. The slow parts of Dillinger Escape Plan just build up to "boops" and "bleeps"
