Rise Against, Coheed & Cambria, Deftones at Rock on the Range

Bands have been announced for the 2010 Rock on the Range Festival. Acts set to perform include Anberlin, Bullet for My Valentine, Coheed & Cambria, Deftones, Escape The Fate, Five Finger Death Punch, Helmet, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Rise Against, Violent Soho, Adelitas Way, Airbourne, Apocalyptica, Cold, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, Halestorm, Janus, Like A Storm, Limp Bizkit, Mushroomhead, Noise Auction, Nonpoint, Papa Roach, Puddle Of Mudd, Rob Zombie, Seether, Sevendust, Shaman's Harvest, Skillet, Slash, Taddy Porter, Theory Of A Deadman, Three Days Grace and Year Long Disaster.

It all takes place May 22nd and 23rd at the Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Rise Against playing this is really interesting, it's kind of like they're playing a festival for meatheads who like fake metal in an effort to educate them or something.

Helmet & Mastodon should not be on this. Rise Against may "stick out like a sore thumb" musically, but nowadays they share the same fanbase as most of these terrible, terrible bands.

Very true, I once worked as a landscaper with a couple of meatheads with no brains. Their favourite bands included Dragonforce, Drowning Pool, Linkin Park & RISE AGAINST! Whenever I played their songs in the van, they all knew the words (apart from RPM-era songs). And these guys were the most sexist, homophobic, racist guys I've ever met. So, I hope this isnt true for everyone and I hope Rise Against's attempts to politicize people by gaining larger crowds has worked more than I can see, but seeing this makes it harder for me to believe that, ha.
