Fat Mike of NOFX is the partner in a new dining and drinking destination in Park Slope, a neighborhood in the western section of Brooklyn of New York City. According to a Village Voice report, the restaurant is set to open in early April and features European and Mediterranean-influenced cooking with locally sourced, seasonal produce, dairy and meat. Wine and single-malt whiskeys sources from New York State are also featured.
The restaurant is also co-owned and operated by David Massoni, John Bush, Chef Rebecca Weitzman. Check out more details here. Fat Wreck Chords (128 comments)

This reminded me of when dude from Disturbed co-owned a bar near North and Ashland in Chicago. It's not there anymore. Think they had those dishes of grass in there on those low upholstered table things that I'm not sure if I sit on or put my drink on. This is also strange. 5+ Replies

this is so strange. Park Slope is the yuppiest neighborhood in Brooklyn, possibly in New York - up there with the Upper East Side. Plus yeah - Thistle Hill? is this a reference to an old punk song that we're all missing? 7+ Replies

With over 3,000 restaurants within San Francisco alone, you would think why the hell wouldn't he just partner up here. I guess it's easier to have people run it for you and be on the other side of the country. Go Figure.... I give this place about a year or two before it goes down. 7+ Replies

Isn't it weird that an adamant vegan is opening up a dining establishment that serves meat? Or does this happen a lot? Is their no guilt there? Not saying there should be, I'm just a curious fella with lotsa questions. 6+ Replies

I guess John Bush is kind of a common name, but I think it'd be pretty crazy if Fat Mike was opening a yuppie restaurant with the dude from Anthrax. Like no part of that sentence makes any sense.

im always down for new places to check out, but i doubt ill ever step foot in this place. it sounds like an awfully boring, ridiculously expensive run of the mill restaurant.

As the only 20-year-old not living with her family in Park Slope, I for one am gonna check it out.

I'm pretty dissapointed that he would do this, I mean he can do whatever he wants with his well-earned money but opening a fancy restaurant in a yuppie/gentrified neighborhood. That hits a personal sore spot with me, seeing as gentrification and the whole spread of yuppie influence is destroying poor, working class neighborhoods, which I didnt expect an influential figure in punk rock to contribute to. The meat and dairy thing is confusing and dissapointing too but for some reason the neighborhood bothers me much more. 4+ Replies

The guy is 43 I think. He may be in an anti-establishment punk band, but he still grew up, like the rest of us have or will. There's no money to be made with anarchy. 1+ Reply

Exactly what Brooklyn needs- another non-vegetarian restaurant. And Park Slope? Ick. Maybe they will have some vegan stuff on the menu.

I've always felt that I disliked many users of this site for having misplaced priorities, an undeserved elitism, and for saying things only to impress the other fellows trying equally as hard to be accepted on this site. But the reaction to this story cements those feelings. Ya'll a bunch of fucking losers. A dude who happens to be a, musician, lyricist, and label operator, is going in as a partner to open a restaurant.(that should be where the story ends) Anyone analyzing the location of this establishment, its name, and its menu needs to find other things their lives worth analyzing. I don't give a fuck if you want vegan food, and if you need to announce this to the users of this site to "up your cred", I don't give a fuck if you don't like the neighborhood, I don't give a fuck if you have a problem with another persons success in a genre that generally represents poo show rest of comment 2+ Replies
