Defeater have announced a run of dates in the US beginning mid-month and hitting SXSW. The band is supporting their 2009 EP, Lost Ground.

when i used to go to WIU, i'd drive to Peoria for shows and they had large thriving punk/hardcore scene. granted, this was about 4 years ago, so i'm not sure what its like not....but it used to be awesome there.

i used to hang out at the ADD Loft when it first started in 2005 and would frequent the Cafe quite a bit.

Probably not then, that loft thing started up the year after I left. I still hang with Kevin O'Connor sometimes, but I don't know if it had been named yet when he lived there.

crazy. i hung out with him quite a bit when i went to WIU. they named it the ADD Loft when he first moved in there and started having shows. i usually wore a painted up leather jacket on with a 7 Seconds logo on the back, if that helps pick me out of a crowd.

Naw man, the thing is, I've gone to plenty of shows in Peoria back in the day, but I would never say they had a "thriving punk/hardcore scene". 35 people does not a scene make. Get that shit together and bring it to the city. Nobody wants to drive out 2 hrs to DeKalb to watch a killer band at some shithole. It's just poor planning really.

Such a great band. Live show, lyrics, everything about them is top-notch. Andy is a sick drummer. I wish more hardcore bands put this much thought into what they do.
