if i remember correctly in the story he was like 15 and was threatened by the assaulters. not that this defends rape or sexual assault, or him, but LA in the 80s was a violent, scary place. Especially the punk rock scene. As a 15 year old you can see how he would have been scared for his life.

He didn't tell them to drink piss. He got out a bottle of tequila at the beginning of the show and gave out shots to a ton of people. At the end of the show, he sang a song about drinking piss and showed a video of him supposedly pissing in the tequila. It could have been a Whizzinator or something.

He also told a story about how he saw a gang rape about to happen and did not respond to the woman's pleas for help, and opted instead to just watch the Vandals play their set. If this actually happened he's scum; if he wants to get it off his chest, a set he's playing for money is a pretty malapropos time to do it. If he's just yanking everyone's chain a la Andy Kaufmann, it's especially insensitive to survivors because (obviously) sexual assault is NEVER entertainment, and he told his stupid, self-serving, insensitive story without so much as a "trigger warning" for survivors.

I think it changes the way I think of him whether it's true or not. i feel the same way. i live in houston and to see a good show, most of the time i need to leave houston to see it. i'm not a native texan, and living here i get it. there is still a lot of racism, sexism and if its not christian, its going to hell. but not all are like that. if you have a personal vendetta with tx, thats fine. dont take it out on me. the guy who has nothing bad to say about you. to think an entire state thinks the same way is the same ignorance that fuels racism. this year i'll be 30 and i still feel a little like a fan boy when it comes to the scene, i still go see A3, not because of what they have done lately but because when i heard goddamnit it was as if they pulled the lyrics right from my brain, and the music moved me. so i'm not sure what your intentions were mike, until then i won't know what to think. i've heard cry for help, maybe he still doesnt like tx, or maybe its art who knows. i'm not one to judge but i once heard some one on stage say, "stop spitting on me, i'm not that punk" well mike, stop pissing in my drink.....

You didn't watch the video. He didn't fill all 750ml with piss. It was probably 80% full when he pissed in it. As anyone knows, hard alcohol has a strong flavor and thus will mask the taste of the urine. I'm sure that 80% Patron/20% piss tastes pretty damn close to the real thing. That's not the point. If he really did piss in it and serve it to HIS FANS at a show where people are saying that he's getting stuff off his chest, well, I have a hard time feeling sorry for the guy and you should be ashamed of yourself for coming to his defense. It could very well have been fake. I've lived in the SF area for a long long time and I know a few people who know him personally through the music scene. He is an asshole. This is not news. And the people who know him know that he is completely capable of pulling something like this off. He runs from the venue like a coward as soon as his set is done.
