Six Feet Under

In conjunction with Malfunction and Six Feet Under Records, Deathwish has posted a new label sampler featuring tracks from Narrows, Converge, Daylight, Blacklisted, Doomriders, Acid Tiger and a slew of others.

It's sad to see the death of the compilation. So many great ones from 'The Thing that Ate Floyd', 'Four Two Pudding','I Can't Believe Its Not Water' and the 'Back to Front' series.

I was introduced to so many great bands through those things.

It's awesome for labels to do these samplers but I miss the tangible compilation (even though there were lots of terrible ones).

I was just thinking about this yesterday. I remember picking up the epifat or lookout comps in the mid 90's and learning about new bands.

I remember how excited I was when I found a NRA sampler for $1.99. I bought copies for all of my friends too. Like you said, it's great that labels still make comps, but this is a perfect example of why the tangible record/cd is better. The digital version tells you shit all about the band.

Yep, the Hardcore Breakout volumes were great too.

I miss the contact sheets for the bands, the lyrics and sometimes the story behind it being put out.
