Rafa Benitez insists Liverpool remain in the race for fourth place and will not be letting up.
A 4-0 demolition of Burnley on Sunday, which sent the Clarets down, has kept the Reds' faint hopes alive.
With two games of the season remaining they sit two points behind Tottenham, who occupy the final UEFA Champions League and have a game in hand on Liverpool.
The Anfield outfit are still very much in the mix though, especially after boosting their goal difference at Turf Moor, and Benitez believes anything is still possible.
"I think we have a chance so we will try," said the Spaniard.
"We know they (Tottenham and Manchester City) still have one game in hand but we are close and we will try our best.
Chance
"Maybe the best results for us is for them to draw and then if we can get six points we will have to see.
"If we finish on 68 points we will have a chance because we will have better goal difference."
The only negative to come out of Sunday's mauling of Burnley was an injury suffered by Dirk Kuyt.
The Dutchman is now a doubt for Thursday's return date with Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-finals, but Benitez is refusing to rule him out of the crunch clash.
He said: "Kuyt is working with the physios as he has a small problem with his calf but we will have to wait."
