Green Day has tapped Joan Jett and the Blackhearts to provide support on their upcoming European run which kicks off June 2nd. The shows precede the band's upcoming August tour with AFI.

As for Jett, she is the subject of the new film, The Runaways, which documents her experiences in the eponymous band in the 1970s. The film stars Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame and Dakota Fanning and was directed by music video director, Floria Sigismondi.
