The songs off of One Fierce Beer Coaster -- "Asleep at the Wheel" and "Shut Up" (especially Shut Up) are two of my favorite songs.

I remember my ex girlfriend left me one of their albums in my car awhile back. It was pink and white and said Against Me! in black. I listened to it for like 10 minutes and it sounded like folky-music recorded in a garage. Jump ahead a few years to the next time I'd hear this band, and it sounds like highly produced post-Blink poppy punk.

That's honestly been my only exposure to this band. Ever.

So my question is; am I right? Am I remembering this all correctly?

If so, how could anyone on this godforfucking website still support this crap?

I don't. Even the difference between this and the last album is massive. The last album at least sounded like Tom Gabel, this sounds like The Gaslight Anthem meets Green Day's Warning and then gets overproduced.

They leaked a comedy recording of themselves imitating a generic college rock band. It was quite funny. The real album is coming out in June.

i actually had that thought today, imagine they purposely leaked a bullshit album so everyone would get bummed, only a couple months later they release something good. that would be better than the pee tequila prank-wise.

well, they were in the studio for something like 6 weeks... but I doubt we'd be that lucky.

White Crosses isn't bad, but it's pretty forgettable. It hasn't really grown on me at all. New Wave was a lot better.

Yeah that's the thing, there's a few songs here and there that are good, maybe two really great songs, but nothing at any stage that makes me understand why people flip out for (or against) this band. I think it's one of those things where they were a band of their time, but they're just not that band anymore.

got this cd given to me as a random spot prize at a sporting function last night. a cd store donated a few cds for them to giveaway. its still got the sample only sticker on the back. was weird because i know i was the only one in the whole place who would know am!, apart from my girlfriend. also weird because the album hasnt even been released yet..

i'm new to Against Me! i'm enjoying the stuff i'm hearing from the album (Teenage Anarchist, Rapid Decompression, White Crosses) but i think i'll buy ...Cowboy first and listen that to death, as everyone describes it as life changing and stuff
