Tours: Green Day / AFI

Green Day have added more dates to their previously announced tour with AFI. The band has also confirmed the routing for a South American tour set to kick off in October.

I was reading an article where Tre said that there would be less songs from 21 CB so if you didn't like that one, this might be a good show for you. And since they're playing with AFI, "Going to Pasalacqua" might get a lot of play. I think Davey's sung that with them more than once.

The Shoreline Lawn tickets were only $20. That doesn't help you if you aren't near the Bay Area, but I was stoked because I never thought I'd get a chance to see either of those bands ever again for that price, let alone at a venue that I enjoy. The whole trip is going to end up being cheaper than the 10-year High School Reunion that I'm blowing off to go to the show.

It funny how Green day was so called banned from ever playing Gilman Street again,and yes you had The Pinhead Gunpowder shows year or 2 ago and how Billie Joe bought the club a new sound system and why the banned was lifted, but what few people don't know and realize is that Green Day played a show at Gilman Street like 3 days after the fake 9/11 attack back in 2001 or 2002 what ever year the 9/11 crap went down and anyway,and very few people have ever know about this. I got the video tape from the show and if it was not for my ex who was from Rome,Italy and knows Green Day and was at the show and got up on stage and sang during Christie Road,after she Knocked the mic offstage during Longview before hand and fell off stage with it, I never know they got to play Gilman street even if they where so called banded from the club. Since my ex spent years looking for a

Ah i have all 3 versions but i made sure one I got 1st the better version for my ex that had her on it the most,and it fucking sad she was staying and living with people I won't name who where part of this show and they tease her and refuse to send her the show and keep promising they would, maybe because she made a drunk fool of herself, or because this show was to be kept secret for sometime. Anyway Just reading Gilman Street will burn made me think of this all, and shit it should burn since they now let shitty hardcore bands play there,from friends I know in bands who played there,it just not what it use to be.

From videos,set lists,and friends I spoke to that while touring since the release of 21stCB that Green Day have been putting on2-3 hour shows and are playing more of the classic songs from 1,039, Kerplunk,Insomniac, dookie,etc and overall you will get the once rare tracks they have not played in years live instead of the radio singles. I will post up with my $20 ticket on the lawn in Camden and enjoy.

Green Day's shows are usually cheaper than this tour. I think it's cause they tagged on AFI. For Green Day's last couple tours, I only paid $50 for pit tix, which is pretty decent nowadays.

when dookie came out green day played in detroit and the tickets were $7.50 not kidding.

it sold out in 5 minutes, i remember trying to get through to ticketmaster and just kept getting busy signals. needless to say i didnt get to go.

I saw them in 2000 at the Warped Tour. They looked pretty normal (Billie Joe was wearing a dress shirt and tie sloppily). They asked the crowd for requests and someone requested "Christie Road" and they played it. I thought it was great that they'd play such an old song that's not one of their hits, even if it's not a favourite of mine. They seemed like a cool, normal, down-to-earth band, despite their success.

Then I saw them again in 2005 and with his make-up and arm bands that say "rage" and "love", Billie looked like he was wearing a costume. They played nothing but singles, fire shot out of the stage, Billie ran around with the mic like he was Axl Rose while the extra guitar player did all the work, and despite growing up loving their music, I felt like never ever seeing them perform again. I hate this rock star bullshit.

The only two times I've seen green day were those exact times you mentioned and you hit the nail on the fucking head. It was super strange to see them all glammed up after watching videos of them as a kid in the 90s.

What was the one song they played on warp tour that is unreleased? I came across a Green Day song that is about 1 minute long they played at one the warp shows and it a unreleased song,and well I am 29 years old I basically got Into them from stealing Kerplunk off my older sister when I was very young and getting into music(the green colored cassette tape)and own like 200-300 shows from vhs,cd,cassettes,dvd bootlegs and well it seems the song I have a found on maybe napster 10 years ago I shared with many people and it not a cover song but it seems I the only one who has it,and well I know my music and well I wish i knew what the song is called. I willing to share if anyone willing to crack the code for me on this song.

I think both of these band's music is worth at least that much for ticket prices... I just wouldn't feel comfortable spending that much. Sorry.
