Gypsy Punks is an incredible album when given the chance. Everything else is pretty hit or miss. Still a fantastic live band.

the first 3 or 4 times i saw them, i found them to be incredible live. just totally unpredictible. i saw them last april and it was really boring. everything seemed really predictible and the band seemed bored on stage

Oh, he TOTALLY did wash windows, when he was a political refugee... in Italy. It's not on youtube but believe me, it's true. He wasn't there by himself.

I admire their work, I respect them as musicians, I can easily see their artistic credibility, they blew me away when I saw them live a few years back, but, alas, I've never been able to get into their albums, and I've tried. I thought I was the only one.

Like the others said, they are amazing live, best show I've seen. I can see why people can't get into their albums though, I hated it the first time I heard one song. I love most of their stuff, but can't get into the new one other than about two songs.

My public library stocks CD's by Gogol Bordello, Streetlight Manifesto, Gaslight Anthem, and NoFX. Is it wrong to sign them out and rip them to my iPod?

I think NOFX is okay with it (at least according to their old site, I might be wrong) as long as you can't afford to buy their stuff. Smaller bands it hurts no matter what (like Streetlight), so you should buy their stuff. I mean, if you like it, you go without 2 meals and buy a CD.

True. I just didn't want to say they'd be ok with it unless I had read or heard it from their own mouths. Every band has a different opinion. Some are more hungry than others.
