For the first time in 14 years, the original line-up of New Jersey hardcore band Ensign will be performing together for a special pre-Halloween event on October 30th at the Court Tavern in New Brunswick, NJ. The show will feature vocalist Tim Shaw, original drummer Chris Ross (Nora/Torchbearer), founding guitarist John Fraunberger, and touring bassist Nate Gluck (Strength 691/Vision/Detournement). The band will only be performing material from their first and second 7-inches as well as a few extra trackss, most of which have not been performed live since the departure of Ross & Fraunberger in the late-90's.
Also performing will be Frontier(s), the new band from Chris Hidgon (Elliott) and Matt Wieder (Mouthpiece/Automatic), Karma Never Forgives (members from Agents of Man, Bulldoze, For The Love Of, and IDK), and Skull Crusher (Resurrection/Hands Tied). For awhile, the band The Degenerics were Ensign, just with Ensign's front man, but otherwise the entire lineup of the Degenerics minus Craig the singer. I really just wanted to mention Degenerics because they are the best band besides the misfits to ever come out of New Jersey.

So not quite the original lineup then, as that would need Walt Svekla on bass rather than Nate Gluck.

Shaw isn't the original vocalist of Ensign and the band did not start out as a hardcore band per se more of a post hardcore band

cool. i worked with John Fraunberger a few years ago. i hated seeing him in a cubicle when he had all these cool tour stories.
