Our friends at ThePunkSite.com have released a free, thirty-five song digital compilation via their Facebook page titled It's Like Bringing A Fork To A Gunfight. The set features songs from bands like Mixtapes, The Dopamines, The Arrivals, The Gamits, The Holy Mountain, Todos Caeran, Fiya, Make Do And Mend, Protagonist, Rust Belt Lights, The Brains, The Creepshow, Defiance, Ohio, Audio/Rocketry, Harbor 81, HollowPoints, The Dreadnoughts, and Burning Streets.

I don't think it's necessary but it's not unusual in this day and age. Sure you get people who use them for no more than "OMG Teh cat is cute" posts, but sometimes it's easier to put your new pictures on facebook than e-mailing 50 family members. I don't feel it's a requirement but the technology has pushed a good deal of social networking beyond ego stroking and attempting to hook up with underage females (though I guess you can still do that).
