Documentary, Greatest Hits and more coming from Jay Reatard

A year after his death at 29, his label, Shattered Club, has announced a slew of new Jay Reatard releases for 2011. Notably, his official website reports that plans are underway for reissues of albums from his two bands - Lost Sounds and The Reatards as well as a new "definitive" greatest hits record. The label is also promising a feature-length documentary about the career of the acclaimed musician.

His final studio-recorded solo album was 2009's Watch Me Fall .

This is a case where it's totally necessary. I was intimidated as hell by his discography when I first started getting into him. An entry point like this would have been awesome.

I think Teenage Hate is the best place to start. If you like his newer poppier / solo stuff go with Blood Visions.

I got the greatest hits, it's called Blood Visions...wasn't that already a collective....

Nope, just a normal album. You're missing out on a TON of great stuff if you only have that LP.

Kind of creepy that his last LP was entitled Watch Me Fall.
