Rivers Cuomo announces book, solo compilation

Rivers Cuomo of Weezer has posted a preview of his (first?) memoir - first mentioned in mid-2007 - which is headed for publication in March. According to a Billboard report, the book, titled The Pinkerton Diaries, will feature pages of handwritten lyrics, sheets of music, doodles, letters, and journal entries from the era surrounding Pinkerton. Rivers has clearly narrowed his focus after originally talking about "eight volumes" of material.

The book is expected to be release in March, which is also when Cuomo will release his recently announce third Alone collection. Like the previous two entries, the Alone collection will feature home recordings and demo material.

I would imagine that this guy is a dick to his band. I am sure he is a control freak. His music is NOTHING special. I do like weezer, but pretty much hate this guy. What about the rest of his band? They seem to get no respect. Just Rivers? He is very irrelevant.

I don't see where you see that. I mean, I know he USED to fine the members of the band when they'd fuck up live and he was like completely insane for a while, but it seems like they're all having fun constantly since those days. I don't think I've ever seen Pat Wilson not seem like the happiest person on earth.

The first memoir? I imagine that this installment will be good, but the rest will be pretty mediocre.
