In a new interview with Exclaim, Social Distortion's Mike Ness says that he's hoping to avoid another long delay between albums like the seven or eight years between 2011's Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, 2004's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll and 1996's White Light, White Heat, White Trash. He said this:

I wanted to bring a lot of diversity into this record by opening up parts of my musical past that haven't always been prevalent. It's kind of exciting. Although this record is out, I'm going to continue the process of writing so maybe there won't be such a large gap between records. Even when the record's done, it doesn't mean the creativity of writing is.

If patterns continue, Punknews.org is cautiously optimistic about 2017 for the next album, about the same time the lights go out on broadway.
