Also of note is the announcement that Mikey Erg (The Ergs!, a million other bands) has joined the group on drums and vocals.

According to an update on their MySpace page, Star Fucking Hipsters has begun recording their third full-length, to be released by Fat Wreck Chords. This will be their second album for Fat; the label released the group's 2008 debut Until We're Dead, while Alternative Tentacles Records handled the release of their sophomore full-length Never Rest in Peace in 2009.

I just hope they stick with Mikey Erg. I think they've had a different drummer every time I've seen them.
lukabratzi (February 25, 2011)
hahaha what? This blows my mind so much. Stza is just so gross and Mikey Erg is so not gross. I'm trying to picture The Ergs playing songs about hard drugs and killing cops and its just hysterical

Kind of like the time Tim Armstrong wrote songs for Pink & she won a Grammy.
Half_Idiot (February 25, 2011)
I would have never thought in a million years that post-Ergs! Mikey would be the weak link.

As long as they still have that female vocalist with the soul patch I'm okay.

Just when you think the guy can't be in anymore bands, he does it again.
lysdexia (February 25, 2011)
This just furthers Tue stereotype that Mikey Erg has played in every band.
StraightToHell82 (February 25, 2011)
Well, I'm excited... as long as they record in a decent studio. "Until We're Dead" was an all-around kick-ass album, song-wise and sound-wise, but "Never Rest In Peace" had some good songs that were completely ruined by the $20 budget.

This story seems like it has its priorities backwards. It's like saying, "The price of coffee went up a nickel today. Also of note, the President has been shot and killed by his own wife."
jimmynorville (February 25, 2011)
isn't this that album Stza said was gonna be "ska fucking hipsters"?

How are they back on Fat? I consider myself someone who should be part of their fanbase, and I am not high on them at all.
Palpitations101 (February 26, 2011)
Please, please help me. Are the Ergs really that good? I've never heard them, but I love Screeching Weasel and Teenage Bottlerocket. Should I check them out? Tell me what albums are worth it. Thanks. |
