The Movielife celebrate 10th anniversary with new vinyl

Mightier Than Sword will be releasing a new vinyl edition of The Movielife's album, This Time Next Year. This pressing comes on 180 gram vinyl and is limited to 562 copies. It was originally released on Revelation Records in 2000 and the new version is due out May 3, 2011.

This reissue also coincides with The Movielife's first live appearance in almost 8 years. The band has announced they are reuniting to play 2011's The Bamboozle Festival in East Brunswick, NJ from April 29 to May 1. Pre-orders have begun for the album, which you can find here.

Actually a pretty fine album. But, the amount of shitty "easycore" bands this album/band spawned should have them locked in prison.

With that in mind, I would absolutely see them live if they came to the Bay Area.

iI never got to see them in The Bay, only in Boston. My old drummer saw them at Gilman and always told me how bad ass it was.

i actually saw them in San Diego at the Che Cafe. I want to say The Impossibles opened up (could be wrong) but I do remember there being almost nobody there (maybe 20-30). Being a young and musically close minded hardcore kid at the time I definitely didn't appreciate them. Now they are one of my favorite guilty pleasure bands.

saw these dudes at the tail end of the line in NYC. they broke up shortly after, but the show killed and i still love 40 hr train to penn.

i remember thinking these guys were horrible when i saw them for the first time in either 2000 or maybe 2001, either way it was a fairly small venue with autopilot off, glassjaw and new found glory. eventually grew to love them live, though i still think this time next year is their weakest release. i would probably make it out to see them if they came around on tour

that show they were actually advertised as cooter but when the show happened they had changed the name. was just thinking about how much i still love the cooter/ slick shoes split

I was just talking with my brother a couple weeks ago about how that was definitely their best release. I saw them open for face to face at the Ignorance Is Bliss release show at St. Andrews. Still have the ticket stub. July 27, 1999.

I just bought this on vinyl like a month ago. Oh well, it was cheap.

Of all the bands that do the pop-punk/hardcore things, I think these dudes were one of the only bands to get it right.
