"Alright, so last night, the mp3 of Nirvana's "You Know You're Right" recorded in the studio was leaked online. This is the song that was supposed to be released as the gem of the boxed set, but that fell through due to Courtney Love. Now, it's supposed to be released as part of a Greatest Hits CD due out sometime in October, as word on the streets. But just in time for Courtney Love's hosting of MTV2 for a day, the song leaks online. Here it is. Who knows how long the link will work. If it doesn't, just try Kazaa."
Holy shit, this song smokes.

I'll never understand why people make such a big deal about Nirvana But why the need for a greatest hits album? They only had 3 REAL albums ever released....a b-sides album put out when they were still together, and 2 live albums that pretty much cover their "greatest hits" already. And the fact that all their albums are still readily available and pretty cheap as it is ......I love record companys and greedy musicians try to cash in on forgotton washed up bands BUT THERE IS NO NEED FOR A GREATEST HITS CD WHEN 2 LIVE ALBUMS EXIST.....and ill gaurantee every song on this release will be also on those =)

ok, i'm as much guilty of this as anyone else on this site, but ever notice how stupid people do the most running of their mouths? Nirvana could fill about 3 or 4 full lengths with their unreleased music, and they have. Well, some random British indie label has, and they are called Outcesticide, and there are six of them. they could produce a boxed set of 3 cds (easy) of unreleased songs and covers that were never on any of their albums (or even b-sides). moreover, i have not forgotten this amazing band, easily one of the best rock bands to ever break into the corporate mainstream. if you disagree, i suggest you check your facts before you run your mouth. -chimericalburst

Nevermind is a great record. It was overplayed and everybody has it so it now seems to cool to shove it aside. It has terrible production that Nirvana never wanted and before he did there was talk about rereleasing the original master as produced the way the wanted it, but it never happened. I think it has a whole batch of excellent punk rock songs. Much of it made it to MTV, and was played to the ground, but that doesn't mean they weren't good songs.

yeah, i would have to agree there. i think the only reason i don't really care for nevermind these days is because i've listened to it about 10 million times over the years and i still hear all of the singles from the album on the radio. butch vig fucked that album up as well. way too glossy for my tastes. i'm interested in hearing what the original In Utero sounded like after Albini was finished with it. i hear that the album was smoothed over a bit because it was a little too raw for the masses. Steve Albini = greatest "producer" of all time. he can make almost anything sound good.

Nice song, pleasantly surprised by it. Most unreleased songs are unreleased for a reason. Nice to hear one that reminds me of why I liked Nirvana in the first place.

Actually, no, it's not an opinion , it's a fact. From a musical point of view, these bands have absolutely NOTHING worth noting in the talent-dept. A 2 year old could play the music. A 1 year old could write the lyrics. Nirvana was unique, despite if you're into their sound or not. All these bands just rehash songs by other bands who rehash songs by other bands. It's all crafted by some producer who gets big $$$ by their labels to make it sound like the band has any shred of talent whatsoever. Which they don't.

It is an OK song but its really nothing special at all. If this was meant to be the gem, God help the box set (which isn't coming out anyhow). This isn't one of their better songs and it is pretty obvious why it wasn't released yet. And the Hey-ay's sound like Lane Staley, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Though, it does sound a lot different than the average Nirvana song, which is do to its credit (not because i dont like the average Nirvana song but because mixing it up is always a good thing).
