Win party tickets, VIP passes, day passes from Seattle Soundfest

On August 19th, Seattle, WA will host the 2011 Seattle Sound Fest. Bands slated to perform include Stiff Little Fingers, The Blasters, US Bombs, Lucero, Cro-Mags, Zero Boys, The Dickies, American Steel, Swingin' Utters, Angelic Upstarts, Reagan Youth, Drag the River, Tim Barry, Austin Lucas, Filthy Thieving Bastards, Unfun, The HollowPoints and a slew of others.

We've got VIP passes, day passes and some pre-party tickets to give away.

The Prizes

1 Grand Prize winner will receive:

One VIP all-inclusive pass with access to all shows, parties and VIP beer garden

2 Runner up winners will receive:

A full day pass for the day of your choice

2 winners will receive:

2 pairs passes for the pre-parties with Lucero and D Generation

Open to North America (excluding Quebec) (Why not Quebec?).

Transportation is NOT included. You need to get to the venues and festivals to claim your passes.
You will need government issued ID to claim your prize.

I entered; this looks awesome. I like how I have to give my t-shirt size despite the fact there's no mention of a t-shirt or even a special party package which would even raise the possibility of including a t-shirt. I'm a dainty 'small'. :D

The people were all right, except I knew that no matter what good reputation I had earned on that board, the minute I'd say anything bad about the new album, everyone would turn against me. However, that's true of basically all Bosstones fans, online and off.

There were certainly nice enough. maybe too nice enough actually. They lacked a certain cynicism that I found mildly disturbing.

I don't remember her. I think I do agree about the lack of cynicism, though they certainly shared the relentlessly PC attitude common on most punk boards...I recall once having made an incredibly mild gay joke and everybody yelled at me; regardless of my orientation, it wasn't even derogatory, so that put me at odds with the group. That incident still annoys me to this day...

Plus, the board's become overwhelmingly New England-centric. I've been part of message boards where everyone's 90% British, but I've never been in a community so rooted in their particular location than MMB fans.

That's kindof what I meant by meatball. Obviously not everyone from new england is the stereotypical masshole/dropkick fan. But I did feel it was an uphill fight. Not that they're bad people necessarily. Just lacking a certain awareness.
