The Promise Hero has launched a stream of their cover of Alkaline Trio's "Sorry About That." The song will appear on the upcoming Trio tribute curated by Pacific Ridge Records, due out August 30, 2011.

honestly yes. but if it makes you feel better, i got it when i was about 16, but i thought it was crappy and couldn't listen to it. a few years later i fell in love with it. the exact same thing happened with Less Talk More Rock, i actually threw my first copy away, not sure what i was thinking.

It's funny that you mentioned LTMR, because when I first heard it, it scared the fuck out of me. I had no idea that some people regarded eating meat as a bad thing. I didn't understand and re-listen till I was 16.

i bought it when it came out and still can't get into it. love everything else they have released but for whatever reason that album just doesn't do it for me

What is the point of this? They took a sad, melancholy song that was very moving the way it was and made it sound cheerful and peppy. That might be tolerable if their rendition wasn't also awkwardly paced and sloppily sung. I am not amused. Playing such a serious song in such a goofy way is either a misguided attempt to be 'endearingly quirky' or evidence that they've totally missed the point of the original. Either way, it's lame.
