Connecticut's Mates of State recently performed their song, "Palomino" on the Late Show with David Letterman. The song comes from their latest release Mountaintops.

Come on pal, they cover tons of indie stuff. That ridiculous picture aside, this stuff is far more palatable than brokencyde and their ilk.

don't get me wrong, i can't stand brokencyde. but i really don't "get" this style of music. it all sounds like ti should be in gum commercials or something.

They weren't that bad before they started popping out kids. I definitely enjoy the fact that she's an indie MILF, but everything past Team Boo has been, as someone above said, music for gum commercials. They make such a big deal about how they're "rock star parents," too, that it gets just as boring as their music has. Really, they're just making music so they can afford diapers and baby formula.
