His main concern isn't just republicans, it's the old time republican assholes in the Bush administration that he's afraid of giving more power to, and I agree. I think it's silly to waste so much time debating over the two sides. Both left and right sides are evil. Republicans would make a world of only rich and poor people, while Democrats would like a world of almost complete government control. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm glad you are debating so much, that means that there is an even amount of support for each side, leveling it off somewhere in the middle, which is what America has been about for the last 200 yrs. If either side gained too much control, I'd be afraid, but as it is, I think we're fine. Leaning a little to the right currently, but it'll level off after the next election. I disagree with Bilingual education because its a need for everyone in our society to speak english. Bilingual education will supply non-english speaking students with a teacher that speaks their language. It has been proven after years of studying that children learn english more slowly if they are seperated from the rest of their class into a class that supports their own needs. This is not to say that their should not be someone in the class that speaks their language to help them when they need it though. My other problem with Bilingual ed is that it only caters to spanish speaking students. You never see a japanese, chinese, or any other language bilingual class. Voter registration is different in every state. the website in question has a link to a federal voter registration page which is accepted in all but maybe 8 or 9 states. that's a good place to start.

DAMMIT! People have NO IDEA what they're talking about! Ah well. Such is life. Haha. It's funny to drive between Mount Horeb and Wisconsin Dells (which I do quite often) and see nothing but Thompson signs. It's going to be a tight race. Hopefully Thompson can do for Doyle what Democrats say Nader did for Bush (which is actually nothing, but the theory remains)

He's innocent! Anyways my dear buddy Eddie Rendell... Err... Well I am currently enrolled in a class at my University entitled Special Topics: Political Communication. However when I registered for classes it didn't contain the Political Communication part. The course description went along the lines of "A topic will be chosen by the class and you will focus on it for the entire semester." Well, Dr. Shuster decided to pick the topic on his own and that leads me to learning to become a Political Communication Specialist. Despite having a curveball thrown at me, I am glad I swung. I could not tell you. I e-mailed and I phoned the people at the Fisher campaign about volunteering however I never recieved a response. When I finally did they were very rude to me when I said I could not partake in literature drops on the weekends because of my work schedule. This caused me to get a little fired up and in an angry tone I stated "Well looks like you just lost a volunteer and a vote!" The guy, whose name I forget, attempted to apologize and I hung up. That put me in my current position, I called down to the Rendell camp about volunteering and I was welcomed very very warmly. The following day I went to down to their headquaters here in Pittsburgh and the people there were so friendly to not only have a new face around helping out but a vote as well. That's pretty much my story, I could go into details on why Ed Rendell is a better candidate than Mike Fisher but it's stated better on www.IssuesPA.net. Someone to share intelligent thought with on Punknews.org? You're kidding me. All kidding aside... Punk has lost that edge that it once had. No wait, I must refrain that. Punk is just as good as it once was. Look at what Fat Mike is doing here and there are a handful of great bands out there that half of us never heard of that our spreading their political thoughts as well. The problem lies w/ the fans; we're the ones who have lost our edges. Some of us still have it, the guy above and myself, however if you simply glance at the simple minded people that have posted on this comment board (even the Anti-Flag one a few days ago) and you will see that very few understand and even fewer care about politics. It's really sad when the control of a great nation is put into the people's hands and they mess it up. ...and you people blame the politicians. - Scott

You're right again when you say it's the fans who have lost their edge. Punk is about activism, taking matters into your own hands, that's exactly what DIY is about and that's what politics needs to be about. I work for the Democratic party in Wisconsin, and the way we win campaigns is by having volunteers get active, very similar to DIY. Republicans win campaigns with money, they don't rely on the common person. That's why you were turned away by their campaign and welcomed by Rendell's. Kudos to you for discovering the real difference between democrats and republicans on your own!
