Well.... it kinda worked for Orel Roberts in '87 when he wanted $8 million and said if he didn't get it, God would kill him.

Wow. This band could say they're going to unleash sarin gas on a building full of children if you don't buy their album, and people would STILL not buy it.

I think you guys might be missing the joke. I think but could be wrong, that he was planning on quitting no matter what, but is doing this as a fun joke (in that he is fully aware that a band like this would never reach 31 on itunes) that may help out the band as he leaves.

Hey Chris,
minorkaty (katy) (January 2, 2012)
This band has been among my favorites for a decade, and I've known Chris in that time and realize I don't get his sense of humor sometimes, but this tactic still just ticks me off and feels manipulative and disrespectful to fans. More than anything, I'm upset that his bandmates found out about this ultimatum the same time his fans did.

who the fuck is punchline? and who really cares? let this moron end his band because theyre not selling as many "units" on "itunes" as lmfao or rhianna. fuck this
usapelican (January 2, 2012)
if this is a joke....and he was planning on quitting anyway, then he's just try to get his fans (those remaining ) to give him a monetary happy ending. i think if the rest of punchline wanted to keep him around, maybe they would be sitting next to him supporting him thru it. i don't know what to think

I don't even know these guys and I'm gonna go ahead and get my sammich ready. What a stupid tactic.
thealexrogan (January 3, 2012)
This is a stupid shameless ploy to force people to listen to your band, and give you money. Well, I guess if no one gives 2 shits about your band, you gotta try something right?
goodbye_kid (January 3, 2012)
it's obviously a joke, what's wrong with you all? nice try, chris. i loved punchline few years ago.

as a direct result of this (tried to spotify it) i discovered that ultimate fakebook reunited and put out 2 new albums. i am freaking out.

IM not gonna check them out cuz it just seems pretty lame...quit the band and move on with your life already.

The best part of this clip? Youtube recommending I watch a Beavis & Butt-head clip afterwards. "Grandma Jwow, tell us how you got syphillis." Fucking genius. |
